The freshwater sponge spicules are at the heart of SQT bio microneedling treatment, and act as a siliceous microneedle. The minuscule needles which are not visible to the human eye gently stimulate the dermis and stimulate circulation. Other added active ingredients from the spicules are directly introduced to the dermis layer of the skin while basal skin cells are activated.
The natural siliceous microneedles appear as a fine power in the vial, which is then mixed in a serum. These needles are naked to the eye, but under the microscope the spicules take on a sharp rod crystal form. Results times from SQT microneedling treatment can vary from person. It is possible for some people to see results shortly after the first treatment, but generally, optimal results are seen a few weeks after treatment. Collagen remodelling takes time so results will continue to improve over several months as new collagen forms.
The results from SQT microneedling treatment can be long lasting, but they are not considered permanent. SQT treatment stimulates the production of collagen which is vital for maintaining the smooth, plump appearance of skin. The natural ageing process of skin and environmental factors can affect skin over time. We recommend booking maintenance treatment sessions to sustain and enhance the results achieved through SQT microneedling.
We recommend a course of 4 sessions at intervals of 2 weeks to achieve long term results on the face. Depending on the condition and which body area is being treated, a course of 6-6 sessions may be required to achieve optimal results. Maintenance sessions are recommended every 8-12 weeks.
