How long does scalp micro pigmentation last?
Scalp micropigmentation usually lasts a few years. Permanent ink is used, but there are still many factors involved in how long it lasts including lifestyle, immune system and sun exposure. Expect to have a top up session every 3-6 years.
Will scalp micropigmentation look natural?
We speak to a lot of clients who say they have a friend who had it done and they look like a lego-head, or their dots were really large and obvious. This is because the SMP treatment was not performed correctly. When scalp micropigmentation is done correctly, the dots are tiny using a very fine needle, so they look like hair follicles. The ink used is stable ink which also looks liek hair follicle colour. The result should ,mean that people can tell there is something different about you, but can’t tell you have had SMP! The ink is diluted more on the first session to get the shape correct. We then assess your ink retention and alter the intensity on your 2nd and 3rd sessions, as well as use different sized needles, to give a natural 3D effect.
