Other materials

There are other materials you will need to prepare for needling treatments.  Below are some recommendations.

Wound care packs.  These sterile packs contain gloves, x2 sheets to lay your items on, a plastic tray to add warm water or cleansing products and an orange plastic bin liner.  You can purchase these from www.medisave.com and they currently cost 0.86p each – very handy!

Aftercare products.  The aftercare your clients must follow for best results is so important.  You should use products that encourage the skin to heal faster. allowing it to breathe and adding nutrients simultaneously.  Avoid products with Petroleum such as vaseline.  We recommend Membrane Postcare Products.

Cleanser / Toner.   Your clients skin must be free from dirt and bacteria before needling.  We recommend using a cleanser and toner with salicylic acid to help lift the dirt more easily whilst leaving the acid mantle intact.  Boots.com have a range of cleansers and tonics containing salicylic acid.

Barrier Film & Cord Covers.   It is important to protect your equipment from cross-contamination when treating clients.  The cord and machine should be covered for each client.  You can buy these on eBay or from Killer Ink.

You will obviously need your yellow sharps bin and yellow clinical waste bin, with orange bin liners, which will be collected by a clinical waste contractor if you are running a clinic.
